Clever investment in premises and Hewigo range at Newcott
Bal Singh of Newcott Fish & Chips Takeaway and Restaurant went against the advice of friends and relatives when
he opened up on the site of a rundown ‘truck stop’ on the A41 near Market Drayton. However he surprised them all,
as it has become a great success.
One other sound piece of judgement was the choice of a Hewigo High Efficiency 3-pan counter range with a long serving counter and matching cold display unit combined with bain marie. “I knew we would need a high efficiency range to give us the capacity when both the take-away and restaurant were busy,” says Bal. “A friend recommended Hewigo and I went to see them at the factory in Oldbury. They couldn’t have been more helpful from the start and the range was exceptional value for money.”
Other features on the range are a motorised extraction system with carbon filter box, computerised temperature controls, full length heated top display unit and curved stainless steel panels with fluorescent blue lighting. Bal particularly likes the layout, ease of use and the twin-pipe filtration system. “The standard of food we produce is excellent. I anticipated that we would have a lot of passing traffic but also we are getting good business from the local villages where people are prepared to travel some distance.”

Fillets opens 4th outlet with more help from Hewigo UK
Fillets has recently opened its 4th fish and chip/restaurant in the last 12 months at Forest Town, Mansfield. At the centre of these branded quality outlets are high efficiency ranges from Hewigo.

Hewigo ranges now qualify for Carbon Trust interest free loans
Operating at 93% efficiency compared to 63% for a standard range, Hewigo High Efficiency ranges
qualify for interest free loans from the Carbon Trust. To be accepted for the loan purchasers have
to demonstrate that the loan can be paid back over a period of five years from the money generated
from the savings and must have been in business for at least 12 months.
Hewigo customers considering this option will get all the necessary supporting information from Hewigo and all the assistance they need throughout the whole process of application. Phillip Purkiss, General Manager of Hewigo UK comments, “Our evidence shows that a Hewigo High Efficiency range not only saves you a considerable amount in fuel consumption but also in cooking oil and raw material usage.”
